Explanation: Heteroglossia is a term coined by Bakhtin in the essay “Discourse in the Novel”. It explains the coexistence of distinct varieties within a single language. Heterotopia is a concept elaborated by Michael Foucault to describe certain cultural, institutional and discursive spaces that are somehow contradictory or transforming. Grand Narrative which is also known as metanarrative is “a global or totalizing cultural schema which orders and explains knowledge and experience”. The term is often associated with Jean-Francois Lyotard as he uses the term to explain the postmodern condition of being sceptical to metanarratives. Interpellation is the process by which we encounter a culture’s or ideology’s values and internalize them. It is associated with Louis Althusser.
